Sports Crew

SPORTS CREW 2023/2024
 
Our Sports Crew pupils have been selected from our current year 5 and year 6 pupils and this year the standard of applications was the highest to date!
 
Our Sports Crew pupils have been involved with designing and delivering activities and challenges at lunchtimes as well as assisting with officiating house sports games on Friday lunchtimes. Pupils are also responsible for awarding pupils with sports crew certificates in our weekly celebration assemblies to celebrate excellent PE and Sport School games and School values.
Spring term activities
 
Sports crew have been delivering lots of different activities this term and lots of pupils have been enjoying being active despite the cold and wet weather! 
 
Pupils have been enjoying the active together skipping challenges and some pupils have completed the challenges and been awarded either their Bronze, Silver or Gold skipping challenge certificates.
 
Friday house tournament has been Dodgeball this term and currently Oak house are leading the points total.
 
Well done to all pupils who have taken part inn  any of the activities and well done to sports crew members for inspiring Stathern pupils to stay active!
 
 
Sports Crew 2022/2023

Our sports crew pupils have been selected from Year 5 and 6 pupils and are responsible for promoting and developing school sport and physical activity. In addition to this they are highly motivated and keen to get all pupils active and having fun at lunchtimes.
Virtual Athletics Competition
 
Sports crew members helped deliver the activities for the Virtual Sports hall athletics competition last term. Pupils took part in activities such as speed bounce, 10m shuttle run and chest push throw. Sports crew pupils helped run the activities and record the scores and as a school we have competed against all the other schools virtually in the Melton and Belvoir area. Good luck to Stathern!
January Sports Crew Report
  • On Monday lunchtimes we have been running a cross country club to encourage pupils to keep active and practice their running skills for the Prestwold cross country event that was held on Saturday 28th January. Well done to all the pupils who took part in the Ratcliffe event.
  • On Wednesday lunchtimes we have been running a house football tournament for KS2 pupils and sports crew members have been practising their referring skills and assisting with the running of the games. So far Oak house have won the most games!
  • This week (1st February) is the start of the Daily Boost Skip into Spring challenges and sports crew have already started delivery the challenges at lunchtimes. The pupils can work through the Bronze, Silver and Gold skipping challenges and sports crew members are in the process of designing medal certificates to present to pupils who achieve these challenges in assembly.
