SEND

At Stathern Primary, we are proud to foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child is placed at the heart of all we do. We believe that every pupil deserves to feel safe, happy, valued, and a true sense of belonging within our school community.

Through our caring and ambitious ethos, we aim to empower all children—regardless of any special educational needs or disabilities (SEND)—with the tools they need to thrive both academically and personally. Our commitment is to ensure that every child receives the support they need to reach their full potential.

Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Mrs Maxwell, leads and coordinates SEND provision across the school. She works closely with staff, families, and a range of external professionals to ensure high-quality support for children with additional needs.

We collaborate with external agencies including the Local Authority, Special Teaching Service, Leicestershire Educational Psychology Service, and Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT). By investing in ongoing staff training and engaging with expert advice, we continually enhance our provision to meet the diverse needs of our pupils. Stathern Primary School operates within the Leicestershire County Council’s Local Offer. For details of additional support services available to families, please visit the Leicestershire County Council website. If you have any concerns, we encourage you to contact the school in the first instance. Mrs Lambert, Mrs Maxwell, and your child’s class teacher will be happy to meet with you to discuss and resolve any issues. If concerns remain unresolved, please refer to our Complaints Policy available on this website.
