Gardening

There will not be gardening club during the first half term, although Class 2 will be looking after our flowers and vegetables during this time.
The vegetables are growing well now and hopefully Class 3 will use them for their cooking during this half term.
Thank you to Alice Craft for all her hardwork last half term, it is very much appreciated.

Spring Term

After the half term break gardening club will resume and places will be offered to Year 2 and 3. It will continue to be on a Thursday after school.

Look out for a permission slip letter coming home.
It was a busy Autumn Term planting out bulbs and plants to add some colour to the garden area. The children enjoyed filling up the pots with compost and then placing in the bulbs and planting the Primulas and Pansies on top. They also got to take a plant each home.
We were very grateful to many people who helped get the gardening club started. Stathern Garage for supplying the old tyres, Mr. Swain and Mr. Perks for making and filling our new vegetable box. Also, to Miss Craft for providing us with advice and the vegetable plants. We have planted kale, purple and white sprouting broccoli, cauliflower and some onions.
Mrs. Marriott also spent time with us planting seeds which have been taken back to her polytunnels for protection during the winter.
I look forward to a fun gardening club starting after half term.
Gardening Club

A massive thank you to Miss Crafts and Mrs Fryer for a fantastic term of gardening club which ended with a wonderful feast of local produce! Thank you also to Mrs Daynes and Mrs Fowler for your help and support with club this term.

The pupils helped with sowing seeds and harvesting crops and have built a fantastic Bug Hotel for the garden. Well done!
