Class 2 went on their yearly residential for two days, 7th and 8th July. This year we went to Hunstanton and stayed in the YHA. It was a great two days and the weather was very kind to us.
Day 1 was spent on the beach building sandcastles, rock pooling, flying the kite and playing rounders. We had a lot of fun and the children got very excited when they found a crab, a jellyfish and a sea anemone. To finish the day off we had a lovely ice cream sitting around the bandstand before returning to the YHA for dinner. You might think all that sea air would mean the children should fall asleep quickly, but not so, lots of chatting and giggling in the dorms before they finally fell asleep. But isn't that a fun part of residentials!
Day 2 saw an early start and the bags were packed before breakfast. Once the coach was packed up and beds stripped we headed off to the Sealife centre. We saw some amazing creatures including huge sting rays, sharks, penguins, seals just to mention a few. We had a workshop and were able to touch a starfish and Jack and Amelia got to hold a crab. Sealife centre was great and we managed to find time to be pirates on the pirate ship.
The children were brilliant and we were all very proud of their behaviour. Visit our class page for more photographs.
Peak Venture 2016
On 21st and 22nd May 2015, our Year 2 pupils joined with the Year 2s from Scalford Primary to attend a one-night residential trip to Beaumanor Hall near Loughborough. They did a range of activities on the topic of "Nature" which included a bird-song trail, bug-hunt, pond-dipping and night walk. Here are some of the photos from the visit.
